Labour Leadership Vote Match
As so many other Liberal Democrats that I know have tried Vote Match, I thought I should. It’s the questionnaire that shows how closely you match the views of the various Labour leadership contenders. Also, like many Lib Dems I came out as closest to Diane Abbott.
The full figures were:
Diane Abbott – 71%
Ed Miliband – 49%
David Miliband – 37%
Ed Balls – 29%
(Andy Burnham doesn’t get a comparison as he didn’t provide Vote Match with the relevant information in time)
I suppose Diane is reasonably liberal on some things, (although I still always remember her controversial comments about Finnish nurses) and we would also agree on some key issues like Trident, academies and student tuition fees, to name a few. But unlike Diane I would never describe myself as a socialist. These surveys are of course never accurate, but I do like the way this one also gets you to rate how important or unimportant you think certain issues are. It may help give a more accurate result.

Very funny Anders, you match up with the socialist who advocates more government and then bang the drum for the noveauu free marketeers who emerged out of the ‘Orange Book’. Come on Anders are you really Arthur and Marfa? Oh I get it that is Liberalism, all things to all people.
Me I’m voting Ed first but haven’t sorted out the order afterwards (but Abbott last because she is such a hypocrit) Cheers Anders keep up the blogging
Oh hello again Carl. I got Abbot too – most Lib Dems seem to have done.
Perhaps Labour’s problem is that it sees its left wing as its conscience – and it knows its left wing must be ignored.
Anders,
You agree with Diane on the “key issues” of Trident, academies and tuition fees?
You are aware of Con Dem policy in these areas, I’m sure?!
So surely the real issue is how close do you think you are to Nick Clegg these days, given that he and Diane disagree on every one of those “key issues” now.
Come on Jack, you, Labour, cannot play “less Tory than thou” on those issues.
I’d never describe Diane Abbot as a socialist… or anyone else in the stinkin’ Labour party (what a misnomer that is, these days).
Why do you say you’d never describe yourself as a socialist, Anders? By which I mean, why do you reject socialism (if that’s what you mean)?
Socialism or Barbarism!
